Enjoy our collection of dark Thesis themed sites.
Eric Scouten
…professional software developer and a semi-professional nature and landscape photographer.

Eric Scouten – home/photography page
- No header and left navigation bar.
- Great contrast between colourful images and a dark background that nicely invades the entire surface of the screen.
- Seemless sidebars using a two column format (left sidebar).
- The slideshow integration is fast and smooth. You have to view the Nature images at least on this site – my favourite is the alligator/crocodile?!

Eric Scouten – blog pages

- Wonderful crisp contrast between the grey sidebar and the white content column.
- Text is quite large compared to some sites, which relaxes the eyes, taking in the images easily.
- Nice use of callout/announcement boxes using light grey/blue and bold, basic black headings.
- Eric uses the before comments/end of post/content hook well by inserting an informative box with links/calls to action for subscribing to his feed, looking at his other sites and discovering his popular pages.
FuseBox Theatre Company
You have to see this site to appreciate it. Lots of customisation and it is simply an experience. Lots of light and sounds to keep you busy – perfect for an entertainment site.

The person behind the FuseBox Theatre Company site is also a website designer/developer for hire – in case you want to pay somebody to get your site looking the way you want and you don’t have the technical expertise. If you want to get in contact with him, flick him an email at john@fuseboxtheatre.com
Both Teams Played Hard

- A pretty basic site but the design is really powerful. The translucent container hovering over the black background is strong.
- Nice borders around each separate content/post box. Updated regularly.
- Makes good use of widgets (to FaceBook for example), a relevant header and obvious subscribe/rss buttons.
- Light-hearted “About” page…

Bully
- Okay – this is one of our own sites. We were really excited to try out a darker theme.
- One of our earlier sites – Timberwolf HQ – had a “darker” but not “dark” theme, with off-white content boxes.
- Bully is black, bold and silver with red highlights in the logo = cranky Bull head.
- We got rid of the standard navigation bar and designed black buttons for an alternate navigation bar using the Faeture Box and Hooks. To see how we did this, read Trick: Thesis Feature Box For A Dynamic Navigation Bar
- We display all of our Wowzio widgets in the same post, using the black themed widgetsto assist showing off content from all of our sites. To learn more about Wowzio widgets, read 10 Reasons Why You Should Try Wowzio Widgets On Your Blog/Site
