Thanks for this post!

I’m hesitating to use THESIS due to 2 main concerns:
- What if I didn’t like it? (You addressed mine with the 30 days refund)
- I’m still wondering for websites using THESIS, did they get the design out simply with point and click or coders/designers have a major role.

All you have to do is insert a unique header and/or background image to really make your site unique. If you don’t want to do anything you can simply point and click to choose how many columns, where to put sidebars and what colours to make headings, navigation menu tabs, image frames etc.

One of the best examples of not doing much is SimpleMom.com – white can be beautiful.

30 day refund makes the product a no brainer, the refund is an excellent marketing tool. It always fills me with confidence when the provider has this level of faith in their product.

Hi Somone,

I have checked out the details on the thesis site and the only bad thing I can see is a lack of pre-sales support. To be honest I am baffled there is not a pre-sales email address or submission page, if you can answer my questions and I decide to buy I will happily purchase via your link…

My history so far is that I use free templates and alter them until they fit my requirements, needless to say I never get exactly what I want so need the ablity to customize myself…

My biggest concern is…

Can I develope a theme on a dormant site and when it is ready transfer the theme files to my PC and then to my target site? my problem is I will be using the software for sites that are already built and cannot be dissrupted.

My second concern is my business partner and I have our domain network split between our two names, I really need to check that I can use it on all our sites even though registration is split between two people.

Once your purchase a developer’s licence the only restrictions are that you don’t onsell the theme software. The licence is for multiple sites by the purchaser. My husband and I have a company and use the theme on all of our sites. I don’t see how a partnership is any different – the business partnership will own the software and you use it on all of your sites.

I often create customizations on reclusive sites/hosting packages and then ftp the files to the target domain. This is simply a technical task and there are no restrictions with the licence. A developers licence gives you unlimited use on your [personal or business] sites. The more sites the better for DIY themes. They want exposure.

When your sites are up make sure you promote it in the introduce yourself thread in the Thesis Theme Forum and here as well. I’ll check it out and if the design and/or functionality is sweet – will also review it as part of what I do here.

Send an email to diythemes@gmail.com. You may want to consider downgrading to a personal licence.
