Stop following people on Twitter who don’t share anything in common with you. Find people who share your interests.
If you want to find somebody who likes sci fi or golf, there is an easy way to find them and follow them in seconds.
You can save yourself hours of work by following scores of people in one click that share a ‘tag’ in common.
Take advantage of Twitter’s allowance of letting you follow up to 1,000 per day BUT follow people who matter.

If you share something in common, they’re probably more likely to follow you too!
Everyone needs more followers, especially in the blogosphere to share the conversations.
This video explains how to save yourself time and effort using Tweet Promote.

Twitter is heavily overrated in terms of what it can do you you and how you can take advantage of it. The best way to use twitter is to browse it naturally and add people who you like, not to go on a hunt looking for people that you can suck into your business.
I am a newbie to twitter and didn’t know about following many people in one click, thanks for the info!
I agree with you. It doesn’t make sense if you follow twitters that doesn’t matter on your interest. It’s nothing. Sharing of the same thoughts, interests will create a good conversation.
Well, Twitter is just fun. It can not be taken too seriously.
it`s very nice.

Twitter is great, but you don’t necessarily have to take any shortcuts to get thousands of followers in one click. If you just started and all of a sudden you are following 300 people and no one is following you back…that looks like spam. Grow organically, rather than efficiently.
Very good advice. Like many things on the Web there are helpful & useful items & people and then there many things that can really wast your time, energy and focus.
Twitter can be an excellent tool if you have some idea of how you want to use it. The plan of just following hundreds or thousands of people who you have nothing in common with and no shared interests can become very tedious and not have much ROI.

I’m new to twitter and blogging too but already I have met a lot of people that have similar interests mainly through posting on their blogs or through twitter messages they post. I agree that you should keep your contacts relevant though instead of trying to build a record breaking follower list.
