Tell us what you would like to see at Thesis Theme HQ and you could have your site featured in an awesome, individual, feature length review.
I will review 5 blogs that use Thesis Theme.
If you don’t have Thesis Theme for WordPress and would like to know more – read our review about why we love Thesis and use it on all of our WordPress sites.
All you have to do is tell us in 20 to 100 words what you would like to see at Thesis Theme HQ in the coming months.
You might have:
- suggestions for articles
- a burning question about customizing Thesis Theme
- queries about blogging strategies or a fascination about something that relates to WordPress or Thesis Theme that hasn’t been covered at Thesis Theme HQ before (or in sufficient detail)
- a wacky idea that you don’t think I will do (but you don’t really know me… I love a dare)
I will choose 5 winners from the comments … one from each of the following categories:
- most original
- most useful
- most detailed (more than one suggestion in the one comment)
- comment number 42 (I’m a Monty Python fan)
- a randomly selected comment…from a bizarre selection of daring comments (…again, I love a dare)
* * Conditions of Entry * *
* * Maximum of 1 comment for each of your Thesis Theme sites * *
* * If you make more than one comment, each comment you submit must be unique AND substantially different to any comment prior to yours. * *
What You Get…
- The chance to tell us what you need
- Your site reviewed for FREE – your site must use the Thesis Theme
- The opportunity to become part of history. (I’m hoping to get more comments on this post than any others in the past)
- If you’ve already been reviewed by us – that’s okay. You might have another Thesis Site or you might want a new review from a different angle done. We aim to please and we’d love to hear your suggestions.
What I Get…
- An understanding of what you need, so I can give you what is useful – versus what I think is useful.
- The chance to review 5 Thesis Theme sites that people want reviewed. (I usually just select Thesis sites that I pick quite randomly).
- The opportunity to see if I can generate some decent comments.
Ready, Set, Go!
So then, comment away… I will leave the competition open for as long as it takes to get at least 50 comments or until the end of March 2010 - whichever comes first.

Hello There,
this is my first comment over here, I have to say that I am loving it! Well done guys!
I would like to see more tutorials and How-To’s that is dedicated to Thesis theme in specific!
Otherwise, you are doing great!
Best,
Firas

Thanks for kicking things off Firas.
I would like someone to figure out how to get the visual editor and the html editor to play nice. They don’t always have the same idea when you tell them things!
.-= Susan´s last blog ..Hazelnut Chocolate Mousse =-.
Great idea Susan. I have some tips and tricks for that. Some involve dynamite though!
There is an absolute dearth of useful Thesis tutorials for beginners or people who just want to make quick changes to their site and don’t have the time or inclination to learn the finer points of css or Hooks.
If I want to change something, I just want to be able to change it without needing to learn a new language. E.g I can’t even upload the newest wordpress version because I have NO IDEA what my host name is and when I Google it, none of the techie answer make any sense to me.
It would be like me describing the family structure of white middle class Americans as:
comprising small patrilineal exogamous groups, with weak affiliation to an ambilineal descent system, who reside neolocally. Makes perfect sense to me, but I’m an anthropologist. I’m sure you get my drift.
Can I suggest some no jargon, plain language how to tutorials and PDFs for things like:
-adding social media buttons/feeds to side bars and posts
-making changes to the header that go beyond how to change the css colour code (i.e.step-by-step instructions on how to add a header picture and make the header larger/wider/deeper)
-switching the nav bar from the top of the header
-customizing the look of posts
-not assuming anything/any knowledge at all
This would be extremely useful to the many people out there who don’t want to spend hours in front of the computer trying things that just don’t seem to work or make assumptions about css etc
thanks :)

Fantastic. I get the drift. It’s easy to make assumptions about basic levels of knowledge. I’ll put together a series of assume no knowledge tutorials for all of the basics. I love your site and can imagine how wonderful it would be with a unique header image. You’re on my short list of winners already.
Hey, and you’re an Aussie! We’re in Canberra. Totally agree with your Jane Austen comments on your About page.
Hey Somone,
Thanks so much for your reply :)
I did my PhD at ANU. I’ve got lots of family in Canberra and visit regularly. Spending most of my life in Bowral (it’s like Manuka) explains how I feel about Jane Austen.
I got so frustrated with the blog set up (it’s nothing that you’ve done!) I’ve just written a post about 2 weeks @#@#$#!! I identified 9 things that I really wanted straightforward tutorials for (or very clear answers for) but had a devil of a time finding.
I hope you don’t mind, but rather than repeating it all here, I’ll post the link: http://desertbookchick.com/?p=350 and you can have a read. It might give you some ideas for products or tutorials to help us mortals.
.-= Amanda´s last blog ..Setting up a New Thesis Theme Blog: How Experts Can Really Help Beginners =-.
Fantastic. I’ll check that out. I love your header and checked out the Blog Header Guy’s site. I’m going to do a post on his services and will have to feature your banner of course.
this is my first comment,
hmmm,, can i join this competition?
Sorry, only useful comments have a chance to win. If you don’t have a Thesis site or don’t leave a useful comment, your links will be removed.
Can you have a list of sites that use the thesis theme? This is all I can think of for now, will be thinking of more. Will be tweeting about this.

I have seen several tutorials on fat footers including code to achieve the look. But I haven’t liked the look and don’t know enough CSS to make changes. Since I love the design of your site, I think I would like the fat footer you would design. (even if you didn’t eventually use it on your site).
.-= Debbie Lattuga´s last blog ..Timex Heart Rate Monitor | Laps and Splits =-.
I have some good ideas for a tasteful fat footer, something a little less butch than most. Great idea.
I like the advertising that uses 4 125 x 125 banners framed in one box on the sidebar. I’ve seen tutorials on using the media box with 6 ads, but my sidebar isn’t that wide.

I would have to say that I would really like to see more towards the uncommon Thesis Theme custimization tutorials, there are some excellent ones out there but they are far and few between.
.-= Extreme John´s last blog ..A Day in the Life of.. Episode 5 [video] =-.
Agree. Going to look for things not covered in the Thesis Forum that are a bit left-field but useful. If you have any ideas, feel free to share.
You could consider a post that looks into the future of Thesis. How do you think Thesis 2.0 will look and behave? Will Thesis keep ahead of the pack of WP themes trying to catch up to Thesis? What’s your crystal ball say about the future of Thesis? A post along that line might spark a few comments.
.-= Bill´s last blog ..Thesis Green Blog Style =-.
I use Thesis on several sites and blogs. Obviously, I have the developer package. I’d like to see a for real Thesis Theme FAQ. The knowledge about Thesis is out there, but it’s scattered all over the globe.
I am doing a series for beginners on how to set up an independently hosted blog or website. This is written in a “For Dummies” style, and makes no assumptions. I try to explain everything.
That said, I just got a comment from someone who says she can’t use Thesis because her host has not upgraded to the latest version of MySQL. My question to her is going to be, who is your host. I know of no major hosting company where this holds true.
It occurred to, I don’t even know the Thesis requirements. A quick search in Google doesn’t bring that up.
Frankly, (in my opinion of course) the user guide is almost a waste of time for newbies.
I have grown to love working with Thesis. But it did take some time to get used to it, and I am not a newbie.
And that is my request – a real, long and comprehensive FAQ.
Thanks for this post.
That was a real, long useful comment.
Since I purchased Thesis last year, this site has been one of the best resources for me. And I appreciate the time you’ve taken to contribute to my novice abilities. Purchasing the theme actually forced me to expand my knowledge of CSS and customization. One area in particular that I’ve found challenging is fully customizing the hook and multimedia areas. While I can use these sections in a basic sense, I’ve been frustrated in fully formating them, type size, mouse hover effects, etc.
.-= Grant´s last blog ..Targus TXL617 17 Notebook Backpack Review =-.
Excellent suggestion.
The first thing I would love to see added to your site is an FAQ section where you post the common activities anyone using WordPress and Thesis will want to know. I could make a long list of things I rely on my WordPress Ninja to do in all our Thesis blogs because I have no idea how to do them myself.
You could also include some great tips for beginning bloggers on things like why they should fill in the SEO section, how many keywords to use for SEO versus how many tags to add for WordPress, how to make your header image shareable on FriendFeed and StumbleUpon, how to get images to display side-by-side, how to easily add affiliate links within blog posts – the list is long and each page of unique content will make your blog easier to find.
We have half a dozen blogs using Thesis. Should I add a comment from each of them to have you consider each one?
.-= Gail from GrowMap´s last blog ..Why Marketing is NOT Evil =-.
Wow, great ideas, every one of them. I couldn’t find a list of your sites on your about page. Please send us a list of your sites using the contact form. If we review you, we will review all the sites at once.
Just purchased the thesis theme and looking for customizing it and found your site on google just landed here. you have an ultimate collection of thesis tutorials. i would like to say that just add screen shot to understand it better.
Thanks for helping me to customize thesis theme.
.-= Thesis Theme Customization´s last blog ..Hello world! =-.
I used to have a page that listed links to my posts for each tutorial topic area but found that my style of writing lends itself to injecting tips and tricks in posts whenever it is relevant and there was a lot of duplication. I now use the Lijit search engine so people can search for what they are looking for. I agree that that post needs a boost. I’m thinking of adding a gallery for tutorials and thesis sites with great tutorials. Thank you for bringing this to the surface of my to do list again.
Hi Somone Bull
Can you customizing search result page on thesis theme, please give me your tutorial
I think that is much more better if we can adding an archive, search box, tags, recent and popular posts, etc. in the search results page.
For example: if I search on “handphone” in this blog the search results page will look like this
“Sorry, but no results were found
Do not give up-try another search! ”
url: http://thesisthemehq.com/?s=handphone
I Hope you can help me.
Thank’s before

I do indeed have a customized 404 page but I didn’t think I would need to review my 404 after plugging in the Lijit search engine. Great spot! Thanks for that.
thanks to this site… even at the first try is so confusing but at the end i make it.. i’m happy to visit this site again and look for new post… on the archive box..
great job..
congrats..
