After you buy Thesis you can customize it to make it look like anything you want. A quick way is to use a ‘skin‘ to change your site’s appearance. Skins are also called ‘child-themes‘, the ‘parent theme‘ being the Thesis Theme default as it comes out of the box. A skin is customized and you can easily customize it further by changing colours, background images, headers, etc.

Great list and thanks for including my free Thesis Sharp and Thesis Photog skins. As more and more sites make the switch to Thesis, I’m sure we’ll see a bunch more free and premium skins available to the community. I’ve just released my latest free skin Thesis Terracotta and plan on doing several more over the coming months.

Is there any other alternatives how to get them?
Which link were you trying? If you can’t get through via the link, you can Google the theme name and the word thesis. Let me know which link and I will investigate.
These two following links didn’t work for me, when I opeend them from my email inbox:

and
http://wpblogger.com/skins/network-news-skin.zip
They work fine on my end. Try right clicking them and selecting save – they’re are direct download links for zip files. You might have to copy and paste into a word document to get them to work if your email client doesn’t like them.

Each skin comes with its own instructions. Please check with the skin’s site – usually linked to the demo.

This is awesome.! We made our own thesis before but it was so plain and simple. But now, you can customize your own thesis according to your own style and scheme. There are some tutorials so it will really help a lot. Thanks for the post!=)

Beautiful looking templates! Usually these free ones are cheap looking and technically inferior.

I’m a recent Thesis theme user and haven’t tried to do any creative things on my own yet. The themes above look great and if find one that I like, I would rather buy than pull my hair out doing my own design as I’m not up to speed on PHP or other required knowledge. Great job.

These themes are really good, but I can’t find how to add a child theme in my WP admin. I’m running Thesis on my personal blog but it’s a slightly older version (about 1.5-2 years old). Are child themes only available on the newer versions? Or am I just not looking in the right place?
Child themes or skins are on offer. All you have to do is upgrade to the latest version of Thesis (1.8) and add your child theme/skin custom.css and possibly a custom_functions.php file (if you use custom functions for your unique look). There have been a lot of changes over the past couple of years. DIY Themes is also no longer offering support for older versions of Thesis so you may want to upgrade. There are some big changes if you are running on 1.3 to 1.5 in the way the custom style sheet needs to be tweaked so check the forums to make sure your upgrade goes without a hitch.

I do like the Fresh Coat Skin,however it is a pricey skin though a good looking skin.
I used thesis sharp skin but had no end of problems removing it
I am now a firm believer that it is best to learn css coding and build from there

I love the ready pro skin. It looks very nice. The only problem with free skins is that a lot have already used it. But it still looks good and i will probably still try it.
