Guest Posting and DIY Site Reviews @ Thesis Theme HQ

Guest Posting Guidelines

You’re invited to Guest Post for Thesis Theme HQ

All members of the Thesis Theme Community (bloggers who use Thesis Theme) are  invited to Guest Post.

Instructions are in the box on the right, but basically you register as a Contributor and draft a post. We will edit the post, check with you to make sure you are happy with any changes made and then it will be published along with links back to your Thesis site.

Instructions

  1. Contact us using our contact form below with your ideas for a post.
  2. Provide us with a link to your site so we can check that you actually do use Thesis Theme. At this stage, we are only accepting guest posts from Thesis users.
  3. In your email, tell us briefly what you would like to post about and we will reply with a ”yes please” or “no thanks” kind of answer.

Profile of a Guest Blogger

  • If you have a spammy site and are just after a quick and easy link, don’t waste your time.
  • If you are proud of your Thesis site and would like to get your ideas published here for the benefit of the Thesis Community and also to get some quality link love back to your site and recognition for your blogging achievements – we’d love to hear from you.
  • If you have guest posted before, send us a link or two of your work. This will speed up our response.
  • If you have never guest posted before, that is okay too. We are more than happy to help you get started.
  • It’s okay if your Thesis site is relatively new.
  • If you have something valuable to contribute to the Thesis and Blogging Conversation AND your Thesis site is open for business – you are exactly who we are after.
  • If your post gets good feedback, you are welcome to become a regular contributor.

Good Post Guidelines

  • Between 500 and 1,500 words.
  • Written in plain English.
  • About 2-6 sentences per paragraph with one topic per paragraph.
  • An introduction, body and conclusion.
  • Feel free to use bullets and lists.
  • A reasonable number of links to your Thesis site with no affiliate links (we will check).

Unsuitable Content

  • Do not offer duplicate content for publishing.
  • Any post content you provide must be yours, unique and not published previously.
  • All posts you submit for publication will only be used by Thesis Theme HQ.com.
  • We encourage you not to publish these posts elsewhere for at least a couple of months. We would actually prefer that your posts do not get published elsewhere to avoid penalties by search engines who think the post on our site is duplicate content.
  • If you do publish the post elsewhere, we would very much appreciate a quick email so that we can consider removing it from our site.
  • If we become aware of, or think that the post content is damaging to our site or the sites of others, we will unpublish it immediately.

Guest Blogger Feedback

  • These guidelines will be reviewed from time to time to improve the guest posting experience.
  • If you have any suggestions to help us improve these instructions or explain why we encourage guest posting, please contact us.
  • Your feedback is always welcome.

Share with others

  • Your experiences using Thesis Theme on your own site – review your own Thesis site
  • Tips and tricks for customizing Thesis Theme – write a tutorial or information post
  • Share your blogging strategies - for fun, fame and fortune (newbie and intermediate levels)

DIY Thesis Site Reviews

If you want to write your own Thesis site review - you are welcome to include a reasonable number of links back to your site.

  • I would love to be able to write site reviews for all of the bold and beautiful Thesis Sites out there, but I do not have this much time. Besides, site owners usually know their site inside out and know which areas are the best.
  • By actively looking for the design elements, functions and content that you are most proud of - you will develop a new-found appreciation for how good you are and how far you have come along since you first started out.
  • I challenge you to identify at least a few areas that can do with some improvement and make a comment about these in your post.
  • When you share the parts of your site where there is room for improvement, chances are you will find the time to get to them shortly after the post is published.

Tips & Tricks for Customizing Thesis Theme and Creating a Unique Blog

My grand plan

  • Show WordPress and Thesis how great Thesis is; and
  • Persuade Thesis users who have not customized their Thesis site (much or at all), how to do it.
  • Encourage the Thesis Community to share their combined knowledge to help out the newbies and encourage the ‘old-timers’ to continually improve their sites – through design and functionality, courtesy of Thesis Theme.
  • Promote Thesis Theme.  More users providing feedback will encourage ongoing support and upgrades by the DIY Themes team based on the needs and requests of the Thesis Community.

Tips and Tricks Posts

These posts do not have to be extra long – just something that you think other Thesis users will value reading about.

You might like to put together a feature article on a particular way of doing something or do a list or mashup post that cherry-picks from the best and most relevant tips and tricks out there on a certain aspect or theme, e.g. header, background, posts, links, etc.

Blogging Strategies For Fun, Fame and Fortune

There are hundreds of thousands of blogging strategies to choose from. This is both fantastic and daunting.

When a blogger is first starting out, they need guidance from other credible bloggers and proof that recommended strategies work and aren’t going to cause any damage to the blogger’s site, reputation or wallet.

What better way to demonstrate the effectiveness of a blogging strategy than having it explained by another Thesis user?

  • Some strategies depend on the particular WordPress theme being used while others are generic.
  • You may write about any blogging strategy that you think other bloggers will value.

Thesis Theme HQ has the following Blogging Strategy categories:

Competition & Joint Ventures ~ Continuous Improvement ~ Marketing & SEO ~ Measuring Success ~ Planning ~ Record Keeping ~ Research ~ Site Design~ Time Management ~ Writing
