Revamping Thesis Theme HQ

If you are visiting today you might notice some freaky things happening.

I am revamping the site and should be finished in the next couple of days.

I’ll be adding lots more links and directory pages including FAQs, Thesis Theme Examples (Galleries and Reviews) and Resources & Downloads.

  • It’s going to be easier than ever to find links to other Thesis Theme sites and tutorials to get started and make your site unique.

Slowly adding post and thumbnail images using a new format. I previously relied on a thumbnails for excerpts plugin.

Guest Posting Guidelines are coming soon.

I’ll add thumbnails of Recent Thesis Site Reviews in the sidebar. Lots more reviews happening soon.

Unresolved Issues: Your Help Appreciated

  • Please offer your opinions and tips on my revamp in the comments.
  • I’m curious as to why I lost my link to home page for my header. I was using a full-width framework and reverted to a page framework.

* * UPDATE * *

  • I fixed the header. I forgot to add the #logo a after the #header to make the image a link to the home page.
  • All done now except for some additional thumbnail images for teaser excerpts for earlier posts. I will work on adding these gradually over the next few weeks.

Hi Somone! I’m looking at a lot of blogs that use the Thesis theme, and I came across your blog. I would like to keep by current theme up and running while I play around with various Thesis layouts and options. Any insights on that would be appreciated.

Thanks for sharing what you’re doing with your blog.

Simple. Just install another instance of WordPress in your server – install and create a folder called ‘play’ or something – and activate Thesis Theme for that url. e.g. yourmainsite.com for your current theme and yourmainsite.com/play for your play with Thesis.

Once you have your settings and other options the way you like you can simply apply them to a freshly loaded Thesis Theme for your main site. You can use the ‘Manage Options’ feature to export and import all options.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Thank you Somone! Sounds like the key is export from the dev instance and import to the production instance. Brilliant!

I think I’ll create a totally separate sandbox.

Thanks again Somone!

I’m currently working on several new pages, including the landing page for resources and downloads. I’d love to have more time to execute my ‘big plans’ for the site quicker, but like many, have other commitments. I appreciate your patience. Will let everyone know when pages are populate and the new look is up.
