Vimeo
Vimeo is like YouTube but different – some say even better.
- Vimeo describes itself as “a community of people who love to make and share video.”
- If you’re a video-maker, Vimeo will display your videos more beautifully than YouTube as they are one of a few sites that display High Definition and provide beautiful display boxes (see below).
- You can upload up to 2GB per week for free with no limits.
- Easy to upload, add details to and embedding is a snap.
- As of July 2009 there were nearly 1.8 million members.
- Best of all there are no banner ads.

Wireless Application Protocol is one of the ways in which content and ‘web-like’ information can be delivered to mobile phones. It is often used as a shortcut to refer to mobile sites (WAP sites), even when they are provided through other forms of connectivity.
Wiki
Hawaiian for ‘fast’ – wiki, as used now, is the name given to information or reference work which is developed collaboratively using online tools. Wikipedia is an example of an encyclopaedia developed online in a collaborative manner.

Xanga
Xanga is a community of online diaries and journals. You can easily start your own free journal, share thoughts with your friends and meet new friends, too.
Xanga also has Pulse…
Pulse is like a mini-blog where you can post your thoughts, quotes, phrases, or questions on your very own pulse page. It’s alot easier than blogging in that it lets you check in, and let everyone know what’s on your mind.
Because of it’s short nature, you can also post to your pulse through your phone.

YouTube
- YouTube is a video sharing website on which users can upload and share video clips, and view them in the MPEG-4 format.
